Make Players Feel Good
- How you make a player feel is the most valuable quality in a captain
- Make a player feel important
- Make a player feel you care for them
- Team is lifted up when lowest members are uplifted - empower them to speak
- Say sorry to players who are not selected
- Speak every player's name in post-match speech
Give Players Confidence
- I feel lack of confidence in tough games when captain does not control the game
- A player feels powerful with assurance that I only have to do my role to win
- Opposed to every player trying to do everything and messing up the team
- This requires every player to know what's expected of them
- Set expectations before every match (give role clarity)
